Priligy — Inside and Out

Priligy is a prescription drug in the form of a tablet that a man can taken one to three hours before having sexual intercourse. Not more than one tablet a day should be taken orally. The purpose of the tablet is to give a man more control over the timing of ejaculation. Premature ejaculation may be a common problem but a consistent definition for the condition is medically vague. So when a man reaches his orgasm before he would like to, it is without doubt frustrating to him and to his sexual partner but more than that it is a condition that can be corrected.

Medical researchers define premature ejaculation more quantitatively. It is technically the intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT) which expands a period of less than two minutes after entering the vagina.

Priligy is available in strengths of 30 mg or 60 mg. The recommended dosage is 30 mg, but if 30 mg is not improving the premature ejaculation, a medical professional will, no doubt, increase the dosage to 60 mg.

As with most drugs, there are possible side effects to take into consideration. With Priligy, the side effects which a man may experience are a general feeling of sickness, headaches or dizziness. The other item that a man should speak with his doctor about is medical conditions which might adversely affect the usage of this drug. Contraindications include heart failure, heart arrhythmia or moderate to severe liver problems.

If a man is taking drugs to treat depression, or drugs that have been prescribed to treat migraines, he cannot mix Priligy with it and must wait at least 14 days after ceasing any of the drugs mentioned. Priligy should not be taken with Thioridazine, Lithium, Linezolid or Tramadol. Priligy should not be mixed with alcohol because it may amplify the effects. The after result could be an increased risk of fainting.
